< Back We4R: Strengthening Gender-Responsive Land Governance: P4T and GIZ–WE4R Conclude Successful BriGLAW County Engagements in Bungoma and Siaya Location Siaya and Bungoma Counties Location Climate Resilience and Peace and Governance Pamoja for Transformation (P4T), in partnership with GIZ–WE4R, implemented a phase of the Bridging the Gap to Land Access among Women (BriGLAW) initiative across Bungoma and Siaya Counties. The coordinated engagements brought together county government officials, Government Land Agencies (GLAs), community leaders, women’s groups, and youth representatives to advance inclusive, equitable, and accountable land governance frameworks. Bungoma County: Policy Orientation & Harmonization Held in Bungoma, the two-day Policy Orientation Workshop focused on reviewing and refining the draft County Land Use Policy and Land Leasing Frameworks . Participants conducted a thorough gap analysis, identifying structural, cultural, and procedural barriers limiting women’s and youth’s access to land. Key outcomes included consensus on: Harmonizing community- and youth-led leasing guidelines. Strengthening monitoring and enforcement mechanisms. Embedding gender-responsive language and affirmative action measures. Promoting women’s meaningful participation in land administration bodies. Gallery from the Bungoma Team, Siaya County: Integration & Institutional Alignment In Siaya, stakeholders convened for a Stakeholder Forum and Policy Development Workshop, aimed at integrating the BriGLAW-informed leasing guidelines into the Siaya Draft Land Management Policy . Discussions addressed institutional capacity gaps, inter-departmental coordination, and alignment with ongoing FAO-led land governance processes. Participants developed concrete action steps to: Fast-track policy finalization and adoption. Strengthening linkages between land, agriculture, gender, and youth departments. Institutionalize community feedback loops in policy implementation. Location Climate Resilience and Peace and Governance Empowering Youth and Women Through Land Access: Intergenerational Dialogues in Western Kenya. In recent weeks, P4T in collaboration with Community Change Agents (CCAs/FSCs) under the GFA-under the GIZ Agri-jobs 4 youth projec t, has been actively conducting sensitization campaigns and intergenerational dialogue forums across five counties in Western Kenya — Kisumu, Kakamega, Vihiga, Siaya, and Bungoma. The primary goal of these engagements is to improve access to land for women and youth, enabling them to participate more fully in agricultural production. The forums have brought to light various dynamics surrounding land access, including systemic barriers that prevent young people and women from securing full control and ownership of land — challenges that continue to limit their potential in the agricultural sector. Through the Intergenerational Dialogues approach, the project has laid a strong foundation for improved land tenure security. These dialogues foster greater understanding and cooperation between farmers and landowners, while also promoting community-driven solutions tailored to local contexts. Encouragingly, early results show that a number of farmers and landowners have already taken steps to formalize their land lease agreements, signaling a promising shift toward more equitable and secure land access. < Back Civil Peace Service (CPS) : Bungoma County Advances Peace Policy Development Through Multi-Stakeholder Forum Location Bungoma County Location Peace & Governance Bungoma, Kenya – In a step towards fostering lasting peace and cohesion, Pamoja, through the GIZ-CPS Cooperation, supported a Multi-Stakeholder Forum aimed at advancing the development of Bungoma County’s Peace Policy. The event, held at Sawan Hotel in Bungoma , brought together key stakeholders to refine the draft policy and commit to its successful implementation. The forum provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration among representatives from various sectors, including: The County Executive Committee (CEC) The Chief Officer and Director of Public Administration A representative from the Office of the County Attorney Members of the Bungoma CSO Forum Local peace activists Media representatives Community leaders and other grassroots stakeholders Participants engaged in constructive discussions on the draft peace policy, offering valuable insights and recommendations to strengthen its framework. All parties reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the policy development process to its successful conclusion. Once finalized, the Bungoma County Peace Policy is expected to serve as a strategic tool for enhancing coordination and investment among stakeholders. Its implementation will promote social inclusion, equitable resource distribution, and greater cohesion and integration among the people of Bungoma. < Back Official Handover of the Kenya’s First E-Mobility Curriculum for Electric Vehicle Assistant Technician (NSC II – KNQF Level 3) Location Nairobi County, Kenya Location Climate Resilience Nairobi, Kenya – In a significant step toward advancing Kenya’s green economy and youth employment, Pamoja for Transformation (P4T) , in partnership with the GIZ-WE4D project and in collaboration with the WTS Foundation and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) , has successfully developed the E-Mobility Curriculum for Electric Vehicle Assistant Technician II – National Skill Certificate (NSC) II, KNQF Level 3 . Today, our Executive Director Mr. Kadenyo, officially handed over the finalized curriculum to NITA, represented by Centre Manager Mr. Fidelis Odumo . This landmark curriculum is set to equip young Kenyans with the technical and practical skills needed to thrive in the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) sector. P4T will lead the pilot implementation of the curriculum, training over 180 young trainees across the country. In line with its commitment to inclusive economic transformation, the pilot will prioritize at least 50% young women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) . Participants will not only receive high-quality technical training but will also be linked to industry players for mentorship, entrepreneurship support, and direct pathways into the job market.
