Civil Peace Service (CPS) : Bungoma County Advances Peace Policy Development Through Multi-Stakeholder Forum

Bungoma, KenyaIn a step towards fostering lasting peace and cohesion, Pamoja, through the GIZ-CPS Cooperation, supported a  Multi-Stakeholder Forum aimed at advancing the development of Bungoma County’s Peace Policy. The event, held at Sawan Hotel in Bungoma, brought together key stakeholders to refine the draft policy and commit to its successful implementation.

The forum provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration among representatives from various sectors, including:

  • The County Executive Committee (CEC)

  • The Chief Officer and Director of Public Administration

  • A representative from the Office of the County Attorney

  • Members of the Bungoma CSO Forum

  • Local peace activists

  • Media representatives

  • Community leaders and other grassroots stakeholders

Participants engaged in constructive discussions on the draft peace policy, offering valuable insights and recommendations to strengthen its framework. All parties reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the policy development process to its successful conclusion.

Once finalized, the Bungoma County Peace Policy is expected to serve as a strategic tool for enhancing coordination and investment among stakeholders. Its implementation will promote social inclusion, equitable resource distribution, and greater cohesion and integration among the people of Bungoma.
