Youth, Government, and Advocates Unite in Bungoma to Accelerate Youth Policy Implementation

Bungoma County, Kenya

P4T recently facilitated a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue in Bungoma County under the CPS project, bringing together youth representatives, advocates, County Government officials, and members of the County Assembly to critically analyze the Bungoma County Youth Policy and chart a practical way forward for its implementation.

The event, supported by P4T as part of its commitment to inclusive governance and youth empowerment, created a dynamic platform for open discussion on the state of youth welfare, participation, and policy operationalization in the county.

Key Highlights from the Dialogue

🔹 Inclusive Participation: The dialogue convened a diverse group of stakeholders, including:

  1. Youth representatives from sub-counties and wards

  2. Youth advocates and civil society organizations

  3. Bungoma County Government officials

  4. Members of the Bungoma County Assembly

  5. Technical experts and community leaders

🔹 Policy Analysis & Gap Identification: Participants engaged in robust discussions that:

  1. Reviewed the current status of the Bungoma County Youth Policy

  1. Clear implementation timelines and accountability frameworks

  2. Dedicated budgetary allocation for youth programs

  3. Strengthened coordination between County departments, youth structures, and development partners

  4. Regular monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track progress
