Empowering Women and Youth-Led Climate-Smart Enterprises in Kisumu County

Empowering Women and Youth Through Climate-Smart Entrepreneurship in Kisumu County.

As part of the Resilience Peace and Stability (RPS) Program, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark in Kenya through Act Change Transform, P4T has taken a significant step toward fostering sustainable development and resilience in Kisumu County.

In a recent initiative, we distributed essential toolkits to women- and youth-led climate-smart enterprises following a rigorous selection and training process. These beneficiaries underwent a comprehensive 3-day capacity-building training program focused on Entrepreneurship and Climate Security, equipping them with critical skills and knowledge to grow their businesses sustainably.

The provision of these toolkits marks a pivotal moment for local entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale up production, improve efficiency, and create new employment opportunities within their communities. By supporting women and youth, the project aims to build long-term resilience, promote peace, and drive inclusive economic growth.

This initiative not only supports climate adaptation and mitigation efforts but also strengthens community cohesion and stability through economic empowerment.
