With access to finance as well as the support and trainings of the group, they can grow existing low-risk income generating activities such as running local retail shops, fishing, increasing agricultural production, providing tailoring and other assorted trades and services, raising livestock, etc.
Project aims are:
- Economic empowerment: Access to basic financial services can significantly increase economic opportunities for income-poor individuals, groups and families and in turn help improve their lives.
- Increased self-esteem: It helps in building confidence in vulnerable people, such as women and the disabled, and transforming their socio-economic status in the community.
- Overcome discrimination and abuse: the project aims at changing the negative stereotypes and behaviours of the community towards vulnerable groups.
